Overview

This full-day rafting trip lasts about seven hours and takes place on the Colorado River near Moab. The tour is conducted by highly experienced river guides who provide a safety orientation and paddle instruction before the trip begins. Participants use self-bailing rafts, paddles, and Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices throughout the day. The tour starts at the company’s Moab office, where guests check in and get fitted with life jackets. From there, a shuttle transports the group about 45 minutes to Castle Valley, a scenic area known for its red rock formations such as Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, and the Priest and Nuns. At the boat launch, guides give a quick safety briefing before setting off. The rafting route follows mostly calm sections of the Colorado River with occasional Class II rapids that provide some excitement and cooling splashes. Along the way, the guides share stories and information about the natural and geological features. There are opportunities to swim, play river games, and enjoy splash fights. Lunch is served beachside around noon and features local deli-style food. The last part of the trip includes more rapids that guests can choose to paddle through or relax while the guides navigate. At the end, the group returns by shuttle to the Moab office. Gratuities are not included in the price.
