Overview

The tour starts at Union Square or Fisherman’s Wharf, where travelers board an air-conditioned coach or pick up bikes for the cycling option. The coach heads toward the Golden Gate Bridge, passing notable San Francisco areas such as Union Square, Van Ness Avenue, and the Marina District. After crossing the bridge, the group stops for about 10 minutes at the Golden Gate North Vista Point to view and photograph the bridge, Alcatraz Island, and the city skyline. Next, the coach drives to Muir Woods National Monument, where visitors have 90 minutes to walk among the ancient Giant Redwoods. The park visit offers a quiet trail through the redwoods and includes admission unless the option without park entry is selected. For those choosing the bike tour, the route starts at Bay City Bike Store and rides across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito first. After spending an hour in Sausalito exploring shops and waterfront areas, cyclists leave their bikes and transfer by bus to Muir Woods for the forest visit. After Muir Woods, the group proceeds to Sausalito for a 60-minute stop to walk through the Mediterranean-style town’s shops and cafés. The return to San Francisco can be made either by bus or, if selected, by ferry from Sausalito back to the city. The entire trip lasts between 5 and 8 hours depending on the chosen return option and tour variation. Food, drinks, and hotel pickup are not included.
