This two-hour small-group walking tour in Pompeii is led by an archaeology expert guide who shares detailed stories about the ancient Roman city and its people. The tour begins with entrance to the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, where participants walk along cobblestone streets and explore well-preserved ruins buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The guide explains the significance of key locations including the Forum, with its ancient columns and centaur statue, elegant villas decorated with frescoes and mosaics, bathing areas, private houses, and the amphitheatre, one of the oldest surviving in the world. The route also covers Teatro Grande, Via dell’Abbondanza, Terme del Foro, Casa del Menandro, and Pompei La Basilica. Entrance fees and a local guide are included. Groups larger than six receive headsets to hear the guide clearly. Food, drinks, transportation to the meeting point, and visits to Villa dei Misteri are not included. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for outdoor conditions. Large bags are not allowed inside but can be left at a free cloakroom near the entrance.
