This night tour in Tromso lasts about four and a half hours and begins with pickup from designated meeting points. Guests travel by vehicle to a Sami reindeer camp where they can feed a herd of around 300 wild reindeer, some of which may eat directly from the hand. After feeding the reindeer, participants enjoy a 15 to 20-minute sled ride pulled by the reindeer across the snowy landscape. Following the sledding, the group moves to a warm, candle-lit gamme, a traditional Sami hut, for hot drinks and a three-course dinner. The meal includes bidos, a traditional Sami stew cooked over an open fire. After dinner, guests gather inside a lavvu, a Sami tent, around the fire to listen to stories about Sami culture and reindeer herding. A Sami guide performs a joik, a traditional Sami song. If the sky is clear, there is a chance to see the northern lights above the camp. The tour includes transportation to and from the camp, snacks, tea, coffee, and guidance throughout. Warm clothing and winter boots are recommended. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meal options are available on request.
