Overview

The highlight of this two-day trip is the visit to Machu Picchu, including a guided tour on the classic Circuit 2 route if available. The tour begins in Cusco with a guided visit to the Sacred Valley, stopping at the market town of Pisac and the Incan ruins of Ollantaytambo. Afterward, travelers take a train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town) where they stay overnight in a 3-star hotel. On the second day, the group takes a bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu for a guided tour led by a licensed expert. The tour includes round-trip bus tickets between Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu and all ground transportation throughout the two days. Breakfast is provided, along with one bottle of water on the first day. The train tickets from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and back are included at the selected class. Airport and hotel pick-up and drop-off services are offered with door-to-door transfers. Meals other than breakfast, entrance fees outside Machu Picchu, Huaynapicchu tickets, and tips are not included. Travelers should bring a small backpack or carry-on for the train journey, as checked luggage is not allowed on the train without extra charges. The Machu Picchu ticket will be assigned based on availability, prioritizing Circuit 2, and should be booked at least two to three months in advance for best chances. The tour lasts about 48 hours in total.
