Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre

The tour starts at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre, the largest ice field in the Canadian Rockies. After an introduction, guests board a specialized Ice Explorer vehicle to travel on the glacier's frozen surface. During the ride, the driver provides explanations about glaciers, their ecological impact, and environmental changes affecting them. Upon arrival at the Athabasca Glacier, travelers can walk on the ice and fill water bottles with pure snowmelt. Afterwards, the tour proceeds to the Glacier Skywalk, a glass-bottom walkway extending over a cliff, where visitors can take photos and enjoy views before returning to the Discovery Centre.
